Fiscal Director - SEMMCHRA












Position description

Southeastern Minnesota Multi-County Housing & Redevelopment Authority (SEMMCHRA) has a full-time Fiscal Director position available to supervise and coordinate all accounting work in the areas accounts receivable, accounts payable, general accounting, financial reporting, and investments related to the overall operation of the HRA.  Candidate must enjoy working with the public and other members of the SEMMCHRA team. The Fiscal Director must complete all operational and financial reports and records in an accurate and timely fashion. Must have high regard to attention to detail, ability to prioritize, and knowledge of industry standards and generally accepted accounting principles.


Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance or business administration; MBA preferred.  

Additional Requirements include:

  • Ten (10) years experience with full spectrum detail accounting and bookkeeping and a working knowledge of computer operations

  • Experience including subsidiary through financial statement and audit compilation

  • Demonstrated federal, state, and GAAP accounting applied in previous work experience

  • Ability to present complex financial matters and handle difficult and contentious situations

  • Advanced training and demonstrated skills in Microsoft Excel

Additional qualifications

Additional relevant experience may be substituted for education requirements.  CPA not required but preferred. Continuing education and travel required. Must be a licensed driver and have a car available for carrying out assignments.
